Squidoo rankings and other mysteries of the eons

Squidoo seems to operate a lot like Blogger:
* Freshness of content
* Relevance of content (people are searching for it)
* Incoming links
* Outgoing links

At least these things are stuff you can do something about. Quality content may or may not get "star ranking" or traffic.

You can drive traffic to your lenses best through linking on your blog or your bio on your article marketing. But where most article directories only allow you a single link, you'd be better off driving business over to your website or to a squeeze page to collect their email address.

Squidoo - Make Money with Squidoo: Tips, Tricks and Advice. » Blog Archive » Roller Coaster Squidoo Lens Rankings?: "Have you noticed that your rankings are all over the place from one day to the next? If you have had a lens for a while you will notice that your rankings are never static. We suspect this is due to several factors, the most important being that Squidoo is still growing and thus in a dynamic state of flux. This roller coaster ride is partly due to the freshness of the lens content. We believe that the recency of the content helps preserve a high ranking although we have no hard evidence of this yet. Other factors likely include:

* Lens size, number of modules, etc.
* Traffic - both internal and referral.
* The number of outgoing text links.
* The star ranking (how other lensmasters have voted for you)."

I'm still stuck on the idea of copying your sales page for any given product over to Squidoo. Then they can simply click over to buy it. I haven't tried this out yet, but it seems to make sense.

Just realized I've got some sales pages sitting around that I got with some "resale rights" packages. Now this would be an interesting test...
